Coexisting with Constrictors: Our Mission for Humane Python Management
At Python Protectors, we believe every invasive predator deserves a second chance. That’s why we advocate for the humane, responsible, and completely impractical solution of Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) for Burmese pythons.
Much like TNR programs for feral cats, our approach ensures that these misunderstood, long-bodied individuals can continue reshaping local ecosystems—just without the burden of reproduction. After all, why resort to cruel extermination when we can simply neuter an apex predator and set it free?
Our work is guided by the principles of ethical intervention set forth by TNR advocacy groups. Through education, advocacy, and our volunteer-driven “Snip & Slip” program, we’re helping communities embrace coexistence—because a 16-foot python in your backyard isn’t a threat, it’s just a neighbor with a strong appetite and a fresh start.
Together, we can end the stigma, promote non-lethal population control, and ensure that Burmese pythons receive the same rights as any other non-native, ecosystem-disrupting species. Because if TNR works for cats, why wouldn’t it work for snakes?
